Busking Book by ProfGizmo on Feb 1, 2010
Got a number of good reviews on my busking book. Danny Hustle and Jimmy Talksalot both gave me the thumbs up. Thanks guys. Sold a copy of the book to Spain, Sweeden and Australia not to mention all over the US. Looking for feedback from those who got the new book.
I just got a new DSLR camera for my birthday. Can't wait to get it out for some good pictures. I'm taking classes to improve my technique. Hopefully I can post them around. If you're in KC and need some performing pix let me know. I got some good shots of my grandson playing hockey.
Hopefully the weather will start to break in the next few weeks. I have consolidated my street show so it will be easier to transport. I'm getting too old to carry all the stuff around. Hopefully I'll be seeing some of you buskers this summer.

Prague targets new busking campaign by BC on Jan 1, 2016
:disguise: (PRAGUE) The city of Prague is wondering why there aren't more buskers and street performers around their fair city. After all, they've overcome 40 years of Communism crushing their culture. Hence, the city has embarked on a campaign to bring in many more of the performing artists.

And even taking into consideration of the famous Charles bridge, Prague has much less buskers and street performers when compared to Berlin, Dublin, or Paris.

The project is currently crowdfunded which will determine how the campaign will go forward. Organizers have produced a video as well as an audio mp3 that showcases the effort. There will also be an app for tablets and cell phones to promote the project.

Regulations implemented 3 years ago have somewhat restricted street musicians and will be changed. “Musicians c...

Book: The Busker - Three cities, two years, one chance... by BC on May 1, 2014
:pooped: (LIAM MURRAY BELL) Three cities, two years, one chance - a story of a young man determined to find his voice in this world. Plucked from obscurity in Glasgow, Rab Dillon is about to become the next great protest singer.
3cities.gif
Seduced by promises of stardom and carrying only the guitar given to him by the girl who broke his heart, he travels down the road to London. There, he records his debut album that will speak to the dispossessed, the disenfranchised, and the disheartened. But one year later, he is sleeping rough on the streets of Brighton.

A modern-day ballad set across three cities and two years, The Busker is a rich comic exposé of the music industry, the Occupy movement, homelessness, squatting - and failing to live up to the name you share with your hero, Bob Dylan. It is also the story of what survives ...

Venice Beach, the Naked Cowboy, and "Mad Chad" Taylor by BC on Oct 20, 2011
:guitar: (VENICE BEACH) It seems Venice Beach is the starting point for some busker's fame. Such is the case of the Naked Cowboy's forthcoming revelations.

Ironically, he joins another famous busker who first started juggling real chainsaws on the famous California boardwalk.

In his new book, author Bob Burck a.k.a. The Naked Cowboy, exposes his rise to busker fame and unveils a life goal in his autobiography "Determination: The Legend of the Naked Cowboy".

"I want to be the most famous man on the face of the earth," Burck tells a reporter from the The Daily Free Press. Because he was a model and a bodybuilder, a photographer suggested Burck play guitar in his underwear to gain the attention he was sorely missing while busking on Venice Beach. The rest is history.

Well on his way, Burck is also...
