Chinese tightrope walker Adili Wuxiuer draws a large crowd as he crosses a 400 metre drop in China's southern Yunnan province.Wuxiuer, who belongs to China's Uighur minority ethnic group, was invited to the Yunnan town of Dousha in south-west China to perform his unusual act. Tightrope walking is very popular throughout China.

"It's very interesting that these tightrope walkers always use huge balancing bars which actually makes the crossing much easier than it looks", said an onlooker about the feat. "On a calm day, I'd really like to see them simply walk across without anything assisting their balance. Now that would be something."

(WWW) In these challenging times, we must all remember to go directly to the people. The busker must first "seek" an appropriate audience and go from there. The surprise impromptu performance is almost always welcome in the tourist industry. Even flea markets and towne festivals have been known to welcome the busker. Where else can you draw a nice crowd then entertain them?Not any ol' street corner will do these days. You will need throngs of toursits to entertain and make a decent amount of "appreciation". What's just as important is a smile on your face which is rare these days. A smile disarms people and they, more often than not, willl smile back instantly making a connection.

Seems some in Hertford are busy using their heads for something other than hat-racks these days. The East Herts Council has applied to let buskers perform outside a Maidenhead Street site. Street performers may soon be able to entertain at a pitch formerly known as the Woolworths store. The application allows for "performance of plays, live music, recorded music performances of dance, and anything of a similar description to live and recorded music and dance. Interested parties or responsible authorities may make representations in writing to East Herts Council by May 26."
